Maruti Suzuki's latest compact Suv FRONX got a new breakthrough by a sale of 1 Lakh units in just 9 months. Since it had been launched in April 2023, Fronx got everyone's attention in a very short period by its new Level-1 ADAS features as well as good looking design and it 'snatched' this achievement from it's so called elder brother, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara which had a sale of 1 Lakh units in 12 months.

       The Fronx has a multiple engine options, a 1.2 litre Dual - Jet - VVT petrol engine (maximum power of 89.73 PS and peak Torque of 113Nm - can be paired either with a 5-speed Manual or a 5-speed AMT transmissions) and a 1.0 litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol engine ( maximum power of 100.06 PS and Peak Torque of 147.6 Nm - can be paired either with a 5- speed manual or a 6-speed AT transmissions).

Citroën, a french auto brand which is one of the recently arrived auto brands in india like MG and KIA. French manufactures are always good with best design elements on their each and every models and we can see the same in Citroen C3, C5 aircross and eC3. And now  company has introduced a new 7 seater variant on their popular model citroen C3 called 'Citroen C3 Aircross' and this will be the India's first compact 7 seater Suv.

On comparing, the new C3 Aircross is 300 mm longer and have 100 mm larger wheelbase than the C3. But it is powered with the same 1.2 L Turbo-petrol engine gives 110 ps power and 190 Nm torque which is optional in the C3, as the C3 comes with an additional naturally aspirated 1.2 L petrol engine(82Ps/115 Nm) option. The C3 Aircross comes only with a 6-speed manual transmission and doesn't have an automatic variant.

The new C3 air ross will have a 5 seater as well as 7 seater configuration, and the 5 seater variant comes with a bootspace of 444 L. And this vehicle also comes with the same 10 inch infotainment system including the connectivity features with 'Citroen Connect' which we have seen in the previous C3.

The expected launch date of this 7 seater compact suv is at the end of september and the price starts from 11 lakh onwards(as per reports).

Powertrains

Creta is having a 1.5 L U2 CRDi diesel engine(max.power-85kw, max.torque-25.5kg.m) and a 1.5L MPi petrol engine(max.power-84.4 Kw, max.torque-14.7 kg.m.)

But Alcazar  only have petrol engine options, a 1.5 L Turbo petrol GDi engine and a 1.5 L petrol Mpi engine. 

In platinum trim its available only with 6-speed manual transmission in both Petrol and diesel engine options and in signature trim its available with 7-speed dual clutch automatic in petrol and 6-speed automatic in diesel.

Price

While Micro SUVs are becoming the new trend in our lanes, the manufactures are having a great competition  in this segment to give their best. As a part of this, the Maruti Suzuki Espresso, Citroen C3, Renault kiger and recently Tata Punch had been launched in this segment.

 Now Hyundai introduced their all new micro suv 'Exter', which have a number of connectivity and safety features and comes with a first in segment 'Voice Enabled Smart Electric Sunroof'. Hopefully this is going to be a best rival in this segment.
